Mommy Dearest!
A cardinal member of the Titans, Arsenal is concerned that his child's
mother (our old friend), Cheshire who was imprisoned in the Slab, will visits
his young daughter, Lian.
His fear was not unfounded: the jokerized hit woman
visits the Titans headquarters which is currently to a children care centre
because of the many titan kids. Taking care of everyone, she gets to her little
daughter, but Lian scares her mother's look, and because Cheshire has crushed a
friend of the girl.
When Arsenal finds out the bad news, he immediately alerts Donna Troy
and Jesse Quick who arrive within minutes and take care of Cheshire,
but Lian has been jokerized already (probably from her mother's
scratching).
Meanwhile, Cheshire also wakes up, and the fight begins, everything
seems to have been lost when Arsenal arrives and shoot Cheshire and raging Lian
too...
but only by the antiserum. So everything is happy. Arsenal worries still
a little whether he provides properly education to Lian, and that's it.
Jay Faerber's story is very simply and trite, but it works well. This
joint children theme gives mild excitement to the story, and the half booklet
of fighting is entertaining. This shooting by antiserum thing was unfortunately
written by Chuck Dixon at last time, so it was very clear for me, but it could
work for anybody else. It is sure that the tension would have been pulled over
a couple of pages rather than saying in the next frame that it was just the
antidote. It was difference from the main story again: Here, Dr. Mateo Rivera
prepares the antidote not Harley Quinn. Peter Grau's draws are very good,
realistic, enjoyable, and energetic. It was two minor errors: sometimes, the
faces look too affected and the characters are too twisted.
Service Notice: At the beginning of the booklet, titans fight jokerized
villains: Jesse Quick vs. Shock Trauma, Tempest vs. Killshot, Argent vs.
Stranglehold, Donna Troy vs. Breathtaker, Epsilon vs. Provoke.
As the nanny of the titan orphans appears Deathstroke's daughter, RoseWilson, Ravager (Cheshire takes care of her after a few pages). Among the titan
orphans, It is worth mentioning Grace (Cheshire takes care of her too).
In the hospital, the well beaten Jesse Quick is visited her mother,
Libby Lawrence AKA Liberty Belle.
