Before beginning a new mini-series they quickly
stitch up Pistolera and Vicious.
Well, nothing special, the commandos have been
waiting for them. (But Cheshire
isn't died; she came back when they did not expect her. This shows that Dinah's
mission was not only unsuccessful but she caused the return of Cheshire and the girls instead of preventing
that).
So we can start the new story. Oracle visits
her ex-fiance Jason Bard (who can see again), who is a private detective and
behaves as if it would be a Humphrey Bogart movie (Like The Maltese Falcon).
Oracle doesn't come to declare love but to instruct Bard monitoring a girl
(amazing that Bard doesn't recognize Dinah). The target (Dinah) is on the
French Riviera. In the casinos they are running into each other and finally
know each other.
Dinah enthusiastically talks about her love of
a French Count who treats her as a princess. After the farewells, Bard has
problems with some big boy. (Obviously, they are the count's men.)
Then Oracle instructs Bard to find out all
about the count, for this, he gets the equipment which is usually used Black
Canary. So he goes to the Count's ship (this outfit is brutal).
But of course, the Count's men immediately
attack him and take care of his diving equipment.
When he gets out of the water, it turns out
that the count is really none other than
It seems that Chuck Dixon tries to force the
female line. It is a classic romantic story, the young heroine falls in love
with the mysterious man with bad intentions really are. So in the plot, it
happens nothing except the sketching out a stereotyped preposition. After many
cursory appearances, Bard is star again, but his character is too lame although
he can fight. The drawer is new, Mike McDonnell, and unfortunately, he has
serious defects the face drawing (especially the facial expressions).
