JSA (Justice Society of America) is the alternative JLA (Justice League
of America)
with superhero members from the Golden Age (i.e. Flash with potty on his head
and others).
The big guys (Flash, Green Lantern, Wildcat)
follow in the footsteps Jokerized villains, and only two kids, Stargirl and
Jakeem Thunder hold the headquarters of the fort. And they are quarreling about
which one is the bigger asshole. Then Statue of Liberty's Joker-faced painted
head slams close to their.
The offender appears soon: he is the jokerized
giant zombie, Solomon Grundy, who has killed Stargirl's predecessor. Grundy
takes Jakeem's pen which gives his (Jakeem) superpower, and he (Grundy) falls
down to the subway by Stargirl's well-directed kick and taunt.
Theoreticaly, the adventure would be ended
here, they should only wait for the big boys, but Stargirl feels that in this
once in a lifetime opportunity for revenge, so they are following Grundy while
are continuing the quarrel which has been interrupted.
Below, Stargirl gets in serious trouble,
but Jakeem luckily regains his pen to summon
its inner spirit/demon Yz who burns Grundy apart from the inside. Good bye.
Considering that almost nothing has been done,
Geoff Johns has made the whole story entertaining. And although, theoretically,
I should have been annoyed by the meaningless kid quarrel, but even that has
worked well. Peter Snejbjerg's draws are anatomically accurate, but the
dynamics of the action scenes is not really working, and he has much to learn
about facial expressions. it is good that he has not to take the booklet on his
back.
